About
Richard Dachtera is a fourth-generation New Yorker, raised two blocks from the ocean in Rockaway, Queens. His work has been shown at Praxis Gallery and Panopticon Gallery, and is developed in part through the Penumbra Foundation's Long Term Photo Book Program.
His photographs are concerned with dislocation: the way perception shifts under pressure, the moment a familiar place tips a few degrees and becomes something else.
